Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden moved even with Dutch league leader GasTerra Flames in wins after winning twice over the weekend. Leiden bested Magixx Playing for Kids Rights 85-73 and then edged EiffelTowers Den Bosch 66-68 to improve to 20-6. The Flames, who did not play over the weekend, remain atop the standings at 20-5. Leiden raced out to a 46-33 halftime lead and coasted in the second half against Magixx. Jevohn Shepherd scored 22 points and Patrick Hillman added a double-double for the victors. In the big game against EiffelTowers, Rogier Jansen put the hosts ahead twice in the closing minutes, but free throws from Thomas Jackson, Mohamed Kherrazi and Arvin Slagter tied the game and put Leiden ahead by 2. Tai Wesley went to the line with a chance to tie it and force overtime, but missed the first and then intentionally missed the second. Slagter snagged the rebound and with it the win. Jackson paced Leiden with 15 points and Shepherd added 14 and 7 rebounds. Jansen led EiffelTowers with 17. In another noteworthy result, last-placed Rotterdam picked up its fourth win by downing Landstede Zwolle 72-84 thanks to 23 points and 10 rebounds from Tyrone Sally.
