ALBA BERLIN keeps Sven Schultze
Sven Schultze - Alba BerlinAlba Berlin stayed as one of the most active Turkish Airlines Euroleague teams in the off-season market. On Wednesday, Alba announced a new agreement with power forward Sven Schultze to stay together next season. Schultze (2.08 meters, 34 years old) averaged 2.6 points in 12 Eurocup games last season. He has had a long and rich career in Europe, mostly in Italy and his native Germany. He began his career at boyhood club Bamberg before moving to Alba Berlin, with whom he won three German League titles, two German cups and made his Euroleague debut in four seasons. Schultze also played for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany before signing in Italy for Armani Jeans Milano in 2005, with whom he also appeared in the Euroleague. His next stop was Snaidero Udine. Last season Schultze moved to Greece to suit up for Olympia Larissa, but came back to Italy to help Monferrato in the playoffs. He has also played for Biella and Carife Ferrara in Italy, as well as being a regular member of the German national team, with whom he won a silver medal at EuroBasket 2005 and also appeared in the Olympics and world championships. "Sven Schultze is an experienced player and a great fighter who is always positive and strongly identified with the club," head coach Sasa Obradovic said. "He does a lot of important things for the team. I know Sven very well and he knows exactly what I expect of him."
