ANADOLU EFES signs Farmar for three years
Anadolu Efes made a big move on Thursday by inking point guard Jordan Farmar to a three-year deal. Farmar (1.88 meters, 25 years old) started the 2011-12 season with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv and averaged 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists in seven Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. He compiled 19 points and 6 assists in a visit to Sinan Erdem Arena as Maccabi beat Efes 72-79 in November. Farmar earned Week 3 bwin MVP honors with Maccabi after amassing 27 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 8 fouls drawn for a performance index rating of 35 in a home win against Real Madrid. After leaving Maccabi to return to New Jersey of the NBA, he averaged 10.4 points on 90.5% free throw shooting and 3.3 assists in 39 NBA games. Before joining New Jersey, Farmar played the his first four years as a pro with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning NBA titles in 2009 and 2010. Before becoming a pro, Farmar played two seasons for University of California at Los Angeles, leading the team to the NCAA's final game in 2006. Among his philanthropic ventures, Farmar has worked at good-will basketball camps in Israel.
