Milos Teodosic, CSKA Moscow
May 8, 2012
|Former Euroleague MVP Milos Teodosic landed at CSKA Moscow last summer and immediately found himself in a dream situation as the chief distributor on a high-scoring powerhouse in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Now, Teodosic is averaging his career high in assists while still scoring in double figures and shooting better than his career's averages. He has also sunk game-winning shots, produced more than his fair share of highlights and brought untold confidence to the team. Teodosic, in his first season with Moscow, will play at his third Final Four, but is still seeking that elusive championship. Before heading to Istanbul to challenge for the crown, Teodosic got back to the fans who wrote him in a special pre-Final Four edition of Fan Mail about his development as a player leading all the way up to the 2012 Final Four and his wish to finally win the Euroleague! "I haven't had have such important titles as this one in my career," Teodosic answered. "So it is obviously the main goal, the dream, the top of the mountain for now."
Hi Milos. What is making you play better and more maturely this year. How has life outside the court affected your improvement on the court?
"Hello, Kostas. You’re right, I am more mature right now. I am becoming older, and hopefully smarter. I am playing for a great organization with the highest standards on and off the court. Besides I am surrounded by great players and great people who are making me better every day in all aspects."
Hello Milos. Would you like to play for Anadolu Efes one day?
Alev Tas - Turkey
"Hello, Alev. With all the respect to Anadolu Efes and my friends who are playing there, I enjoy playing for CSKA Moscow right now and I don’t even think about going anywhere else."
Hi Milos. I'm from Spain, I am 14 years old and you are by far my favorite basketball player in the world. I don't mind that your incredible three-pointer sent Spain home, because for me it was just awesome. The only thing I want say to you is good luck in the Final Four. You're amazing!
Enrique - Madrid, Spain
"Enrique, thank you for your support. Being just 14 years old, you have enough time to become great basketball player. Maybe one day I will follow you the way you are following me right now."
Hello, Milos, I am a big Olympiacos fan. If CSKA doesn't win the Euroleague, will you wish for Olympiacos to lift the trophy? How will you feel if CSKA and Olympiacos make it to the final? I wish you the best; you are a great player!
Dionisos Kastrinos - Greece
"Dionisos, I truly enjoyed playing for Olympiacos and have all the respect possible towards Olympiacos fans. But now I don’t even think about losing in the Final Four. It is the tournament of the year for all of us and I promise to give my best to help CSKA win it. But I will be happy to see my friends from Olympiacos and coach Duda Ivkovic. I hope Olympiacos fans will support us in the semifinal at least."
Hello Milos. CSKA had a huge season. Do you feel that puts more pressure on you, compared to other Final Four teams?
Nir Oron - Israel
"Hello, Nir. All the big teams feel big pressure. But our successful season also makes us more confident. We know we can win it all and we will be as focused as you can imagine."
Hello Milos! I am a big fan of your passing skills. How important is talent and inspiration in your game? Good luck in Istanbul!
Sergey Yurchyk - Moscow, Russia
"Privet Sergey! It’s not that easy to answer your question. I can't give estimates about my talents. But I can assure you that I give all I have on the court. Winning is my inspiration, and I love playing the game."
My name is Alexandra, I’m from Germany and I love the way you play! It was really surprising to see you dunk in an official game! My question: how do you feel about not having the chance to participate in the Olympics this year? All the best and good luck in Istanbul! Maybe you will win it with a shot at the end like in Bamberg last November! I loved it!
Alexandra Berg, Germany
"It’s great that those dunks created so much buzz. I will try to repeat it one day, definitely. As for your question – obviously I am disappointed with our result in the last Eurobasket. But we experienced huge problems with injuries so it was difficult to hope for more. I would like to play in the Olympics one day, and I hope we’ll get the chance in future. The only good thing about it is that I’ll have a chance to rest a bit more than usual and to prepare for the next Euroleague season better."
Hey Milos. It's your third Final Four and you are in a good position to win it. What would it mean for you in your career? How much would you like to win the Euroleague title?
Thierry Pitard - France
"Until now, I haven't had have such important titles as this one in my career. So it is obviously the main goal, the dream, the top of the mountain for now."
Hello Milos, welcome to Turkey! You have played in Istanbul many times with Olympiacos, CSKA and the national team. What do you like about Istanbul and Turkish fans! Good luck, basketball genius!
Emre Unal, Turkey
"I love their passion towards basketball and their favorite teams. It is a pleasure to play in Istanbul. We are coming there to show the best European level and hopefully the Turkish fans will enjoy the Final Four."
