Alba Berlin locks up Immanuel McElroy
Immanuel McElroy - Alba BerlinDefending German League champion Alba Berlin agreed to terms with do-it-all forward Immanuel McElroy to extend his contract for one more year, the club announced Monday. The agreement includes a team option to keep McElroy until the end of the 2010-11 season. McElroy arrived to Alba in February 2008, helping the team to win the German League title right away. He has also won the German Cup with Alba this season, as well as leading his team to the Euroleague Top 16 for the first time in club history. McElroy averaged 12.6 points on 89.1% free throws, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 16 Euroleague games this season, ranking sixth overall (15.6) in index ranking average. He earned regular season Week 9 MVP honors with 26 points on 4-for-4 three-pointers to make Alba register a pivotal win against DKV Joventut in Badalona.

"I found a perfect situation for me and my family here in Alba Berlin," McElroy said right after the agreement. "I am very happy to stay here, but we have to focus on the German League playoff to defend our title."
