Crvena Zvezda gets Micic for Top 16

Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade improved its backcourt before the start of the Top 16 by getting point guard Vasilije Micic for the remainder of the season, the club announced Monday. Micic (1.95 meters, 21 years old) arrives from FC Bayern Munich, where he played just 24 minutes over four Turkish Airlines Euroleague games this season after recovering from injury. Last season, Micic had averaged 7.5 points in six Euroleague games and the same in five Eurocup appearances. Micic started his career with Mega Vizura of Serbia, joining Bayern in the summer of 2014. He averaged 12.1 points, 5.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 31.3 minutes over 26 Adriatic League games with Mega Vizura in the 2013-14 season. He ranked second in average steals and third in average assists in that competition. Micic also made his debut that summer for Serbia at EuroBasket, playing 14 minutes to average 4.4 points and 1.3 assists in 11 games. He was also an all-tournament team selection when Serbia won the silver medal at the U19 World Championships. The signing of Milic also comes as Zvezda announced that it was parting ways with Marcus Williams, who had played 3 games since he joined the team in November, averaging 5 points and 5.3 assists.
