Fenerbahce re-signs All-EuroLeague big man Udoh
Fenerbahce Istanbul reached a new agreement with All-EuroLeague center Ekpe Udoh to keep working together at least through next season, the club announced Monday. Fenerbahce and Udoh signing a one-plus-one-year contract with an option for the 2017-18 season. Udoh (2.08 meters, 29 years old) averaged 12.6 points and 5.1 rebounds in 27 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He set a new record for the most blocks in a EuroLeague season, 61, averaging 2.3 per game, and was named MVP for April, when Fenerbahce knocked defending champion Real Madrid from the playoffs. Udoh was chosen to the All-EuroLeague Second Team and took Fenerbahce to the EuroLeague championship game, losing against CSKA Moscow in overtime. He also helped Fenerbahce win the Turkish League title last season, his first with the team. Udoh joined Fenerbahce from the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA. He started his career with Golden State of the NBA and joined Israeli side Bnei Eshet Tours Hasharon for just one game in the 2011-12 season. Udoh has also played for Milwaukee of the NBA. Before that, he led Baylor University to the NCAA tournament's elite eight in 2010, averaging 13.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.7 blocks inhis final season.
