Unics Kazan has added serious size to its frontcourt with the signing of young center Artem Klimenko for the rest of the 2016-17 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, the club announced. Klimenko (2.14 meters, 22 years old) arrives from another Russian team, Avtodor Saratov, where he had been averaging 6.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in six VTB United League games this season. Last season he put up 9.1 points and 3.3 rebounds on average in 14 EuroCup games for Avtodor, the club with whom Klimenko has played his entire career to date. Also last season, Klimenko won the VTB's young player of the year award. Klimenko is registered to make his EuroLeague debut when Unics visits Olympiacos Pireaues on Friday.
