Khimki Moscow Region announced Wednesday that it re-signed power forward Anthony Gill for the next two seasons. Gill (2.03 meters, 25 years old) averaged 11.8 points on terrific shooting percentages (63.5% 2FG, 47.8% 3FG) and 4.5 rebounds in 32 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, his first in the competition. He boosted his numbers to 16.8 points on 85.7% two-point shooting (18 of 21) and 50% from downtown (5 of 10) in four playoffs games against CSKA Moscow. Gill ranked third in performance index rating in this year's playoffs (20 PIR per game), trailing only teammate Alexey Shved (23.3) and Sergio Rodriguez of CSKA (22.8).
Gill joined Khimki from Turkish side Yesilgiresun Belediye, with which he made his professional debut in the 2016-17 season and posted 14.4 points and 6.9 rebounds for an average performance index rating of 17.7. Both his rebounding and index rating were among the top 10 in the Turkish League. He played college basketball before that at the University of South Carolina for one season and at the University of Virginia for three.
