AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan fortified its backcourt by signing combo guard Mike James
to a three-year deal, the club announced Friday. James (1.85 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Panathinaikos Athens, where he averaged 16.2 points on 63.2% two-point shooting and 4.1 assists in 12 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He was the third-best scorer in the playoffs (19.0 ppg.) behind only Alexey Shved (24.3 ppg.) and Sergio Rodriguez (19.3 ppg.). James helped Panathinaikos reach the EuroLeague Playoffs and win the Greek championship. He started the season with Phoenix in the NBA, where James averaged 10.4 points and 3.8 assists over 32 games, including 10 as a starter. He also played for New Orleans before returning to Athens, where James had already played for the Greens the season before and helped the club win the Greek League and Cup double. He played two seasons with Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz, which he helped reach the 2016 Final Four. James also suited up for KK Zagreb in Croatia, Galil Elyon in Israel, Fulgor Omegna in Italy and Kolossos Rhodes in Greece.
