Khimki Moscow Region signed athletic big man Jordan Mickey to bolster its frontline. The contract is for one season. Mickey (2.03 meters, 24 years old) spent the past three seasons with Boston and Miami in the NBA. He averaged 4.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in 23 games with Miami last season. Mickey also played parts of two seasons on loan from Boston to Maine in the D-League, during which he posted 18.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game. He was chosen for the 2016 D-League All-Star Game. Mickey will make his European basketball debut this season with Khimki.
"Jordan is a player who will fit our system," Coach Georgios Bartzokas said. "He is a versatile and athletic basketball player, who can do a lot of things well on the court. At the same time, he is a good man; his former coaches, teammates and everyone we asked about his personal qualities said only good things. Mickey is ambitious and has a great desire to play at the highest level. I'm sure we can help him and he can help Khimki achieve its goals. In truth, I wanted to sign him last year, but then I did not have that opportunity."
