Txemi Urtasun will play with Unicaja
As announced by the Spanish club, shooting guard Txemi Urtasun will play with Unicaja Malaga for the next two seasons. Urtasun (1.93 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Cajasol Sevilla, since the club didn't match the offer the player had from Unicaja. However, Urtasun is no newcomer in Malaga since he had been a player of the club before. Last season, with Cajasol, Urtasun averaged 10.1 points 2.0 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 34 Spanish League regular season games. From 2000 to 2002 he was growing up as a player in Siglo XXI and then he was signed by Unicaja. However, despite belonging to the club, he spent the following four seasons on loan to several teams that included Bilbao Basket, UB La Palma, CAI Zaragoza and Leche Rio Breogan. Finally, in 2006 he left the club and signed with Bruesa. In 2007-08 he signed with Estudiantes Madrid but midway through the season he joined CB Leon. From 2008 to 2010 he was a member of Lucentum Alicante until he arrived in Sevilla for two seasons. During that stint, he reached the Eurocup title game in 2011 with Cajasol, losing to Unics Kazan. Urtasun was also a member of the Junior and U20 Spanish national teams. He will finally make his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut during the 2012-13 season.
