Cedevita Zagreb brings in veteran Tomas
Turkish Airlines Euroleague debutante BC Cedevita Zagreb announced the addition of veteran guard Marko Tomas for the next season. Tomas (2.01 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Fenerbahce Ulker, where he played the last two seasons. In the last campaign, Tomas averaged 3.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.8 steals in 6 Turkish Airlines Euroleague appearances. In Turkey he won the 2011 League and Cup titles. Marko Tomas made his pro debut in 2002 with KK Zagreb of his native Croatia, where he spent three seasons. A young talent on the rise, he was promptly signed by Real Madrid of Spain, where he spent two seasons. There, in 2006-07, he was part of the team that won the ULEB Cup title and the Spanish League. In 2007-08 he moved to Fuenlabrada also of the Spanish League, only to return with the Whites the following year. In 2009 he made his first comeback to his native country when he joined KK Cibona, and in 2010 he moved to Turkey to join Fener. Tomas is also a memebr of the Croatian national team, with which he played in several EuroBaskets, the 2010 World Championships and the Beijing 2008 Olympic games.
