Montepaschi Siena lands Rasic
Italian champs Montepaschi Siena announced over the weekend the addition of Aleksandar Rasic for the upcoming season. Rasic (1.95 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Lietuvos Rytas, where last season he averaged 7.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 16 Eurocup games. He helped his team reach the Eurocup Finals in Khimki. Rasic made his debut in 2000 with FMP Zeleznik Belgrade of his native Serbia. After that he played in KK Borac Cacak and returned to FMP later, even though in 2007 he finished the season in Turkey with Efes Pilsen. In the summer of 2007 he signed for Dynamo Moscow but he was sent on loan to Alba Berlin. The following campaign he joined Partizan Belgrade where he stayed until the summer of 2010, having reached the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Paris. In 2010-11 he was back toTurkey to play with Trabzonspor just before moving to Lithuania to play with Lietuvos Rytas. He won three Adriatic League titles in 2006, 2009 and 2010 and two Serbian League titles in 2009 and 2010. He was also German League champ in 2008.
