WHAT'S NEW
A handful of important pieces have been added to the core of the team that made it to the Eurocup Finals last season. The Lithuanian powerhouse improved its perimeter with dangerous shooters Janis Blums and Deividas Dulkys as well young point guard Nemanja Nedovic. Center Leon Radosevic and feisty power forward Dejan Ivanov bring more size and rebounding to the paint.

THE BACKCOURT
Three-point shooting promises to be one of Rytas’s great strengths this season. The additions of the veteran Blums and rookie Dulkys, who join gutsy veteran sharpshooters Steponas Brabrauskas and Renaldas Seibutis, give the team significant depth on the perimeter. With his toughness and some clutch shooting, Seibutis is the team's projected go-to-guy, who looks to take his game to an even higher level after being an All-Eurocup first team selection last season. Seibutis will see some time as playmaker, where Rytas also has up-and-coming youngster Nedovic, while at shooting guard, Dovydas Redikas will be looking to make his name, too.

THE FRONTCOURT
There is plenty of size and rebounding in the paint with Predrag Samardziski, Mindaugas Katelynas, Vilmantas Dilys, Radosevic and Ivanov. For the athletic Radosevic and plucky Ivanov, no ball is ever lost, while Samardziski – with his size – and power forward Katelynas – with his high motor – will also look to dominate the glass. Forward Arturas Jomantas is able to impact at both ends of the floor, and together with Simas Buterlevicius provide more of a three-point threat on the wings.

OUTLOOK
It might be raining threes in Vilnius this season after Lietuvos Rytas stacked its perimeter with long-range shooters. Coach Aleksandar Dzikic will need to find the balance in his team’s game, but with the right production in the paint, Rytas has the potential to break games open from outside. Moreover, with several emotionally-driven players on the roster, Rytas could be particularly dangerous on its traditionally hot home court, Siemens Arena, where the team rides the support of the basketball-crazy fans in the Lithuanian capital.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Leon Radosevic
Just like the Lietuvos Rytas team he joined on a loan, young Radosevic is looking to bounce back and to re-establish himself as a proven force in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Radosevic stood out as one of the most athletic centers in the competition two seasons ago with Cibona Zagreb and has the ability to be a difference-maker under rim, and to open up a lot space on the perimeter for his three-point shooting teammates.
