Maccabi's Kane out with injury
Newly reinjected into the playoffs race, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv was dealt a blow on Saturday when it announced that guard DeAndre Kane will miss at least three games with an injury. Kane, the team's leader in minutes played, suffered a hamstring injury as Maccabi defeated Barcelona 99-83 for its third consecutive victory and longest winning streak under the new Turkish Airlines EuroLeague format, now in its third season. Maccabi's announcement said he will miss from three to six weeks of action. Kane started 18 of 19 games until now this season. He ranks second on the team in average PIR (11.1), assists (3.0) and steals (1.1) while putting up 9.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, as well. Kane's absence will impact Maccabi's defense, too, as he routinely guards the other team's top perimeter scorers. Maccabi's streak has raised its record to 8-11, tied with three other teams, all of them just one victory behind the seventh and eighth playoff spots with 11 games left in the regular season.
