Dolomiti Energia Trento will be playing its fourth straight 7DAYS EuroCup season and fifth in six years. The 2019-20 season tipped off with a home loss to Galatasaray Doga Sigorta Istanbul before the team went on the road to beat Buducnost VOLI Podgorica and followed that with a home victory over EWE Baskets Oldenburg. After losses to Asseco Arka Gdynia and at Unicaja Malaga, Trento grabbed revenge by knocking off Galatasaray in Turkey. Trento dropped its next two games - to Buducnost and at Oldenburg - before finishing the regular season strong with wins at Arka and versus Unicaja for a 5-5 record and a spot in the Top 16 for the second time in three years. Trento started the next phase with a tight 73-69 loss at Darussafaka Tekfen Istanbul and then was over-matched in a 25-point home loss against Partizan NIS Belgrade. In Round 3, Trento came back from a 16-point deficit to fellow Italian side Segafredo Virtus Bologna and led in the fourth quarter but dropped the home game 67-73. Trento did not challenge in any of the remaining three games, losing by 24 points at Virtus, 21 points versus Darussafaka and 16 points at Partizan for a 0-6 record in the Top 16. Domestically, Trento started the Italian League with a 2-3 mark and the record was 5-8 after a 1-5 run before the club won six of eight games to build up an 11-10 record. That placed Trento in a three-way tie in the fight for the final two playoff spots when the season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Trento reached the EuroCup semifinals back in 2016 and the team would love to get back to that stage again this season.

Dolomiti Energia Trento is back for its sixth 7DAYS EuroCup appearance and fifth straight since 2017-18. Aquila Basket Trento was founded in 1995 and the initiative of Gianni Brusinelli and Marco Angelini slowly gained momentum. The club began in the seventh tier of Italian basketball and the arrival of Giovanni Zobele - who would stay with the team for 13 years - as team president brought its first promotion to a higher level. But that was only the start of things to come. Over the next five seasons, the club climbed two more tiers and in the 2004-05 season, Aquila Basket won a lower league by taking the fifth division championship. Trento's appetite grew as it came close to promotion again before it acquired Lumezzane Basket's license to get into the Italian third division in 2009. By 2011-12, Aquila Basket was already on top of the third division. Trento had immediate success in the second-best Italian level and lifted the Second Division Cup by downing Pistoia in the final. The team also reached the playoff semifinals. By the next season, Trento won the regular season and stormed through the playoffs against Agrigento, Turin and Capo d'Orlando to earn promotion into the Italian first division. Trento played its first top-flight season in 2014-15 and finished fourth in the Italian League regular season led by league MVP Tony Mitchell, which earned it a spot in the 2015-16 EuroCup. Behind Coach Buscaglia and forwards Julian Wright and Davide Pascolo, Trento went on a historic run to the semifinals against all odds. In 2017-18, Trento reached the EuroCup Top 16 and the Italian League finals. Trento was back in the Top 16 in 2019-20 and again last season. This season will see Lele Molin start the campaign as head coach. His new approach after a few seasons as an assistant with the team will try to push the envelope a little further for Trento, as it will try to repeat its results from its debut season in the competition.
