The Euroleague Junior champs, CSKA Moscow, opened the IJT 2007 tournament with a 47-50 over Montepaschi Siena. CSKA started the game slow, and were behind 2-7, but then came a 14-2 run that gave the champs a 16-9 lead after 10 minutes. Montepaschi fought back but CSKA maintained the lead and finished the first half up 24-18. Halfway through the third quarter the Reds climbed to their first double-digit lead, 31-21, but were unable to secure the win. Montepaschi came back in the last minutes, and with two minutes to play came one possession short, 50-47. Until the end both teams failed to score and Montepaschi's attempt to send the game to overtime were unsuccessful. Denis Polokhin led CSKA with the first double-double of the tournament 14 rebounds and10 rebounds while Anton Brindyukov scored 11. Domenico Barozzi led Montepaschi with 19 points.
