Langovic leads Mega to first win

U18 Mega Bemax Belgrade became the first team to register a win at the 2019 Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament by topping U18 Maccabi Teddy Tel Aviv 69-80 at Polideportivo Mendizorrotza in Group A on Thursday. Aleksandar Langovic led the winners with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Marko Kljajevic added 19 points while Marko Brekic had 15 for Mega, which outrebounded Maccabi by 42-53. Deni Advija led Maccabi with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Yonatan Atias added 15, Raziel Hayun had 13 and Amit Aharoni got 10 for Maccabi. Avdija went scoreless in the opening 16 minutes, missing his opening 8 shots, and Langovic had 15 to help Mega get a double-digit margin, 22-33, midway through the second quarter. Avdija had 8 points in a 10-0 run that brought Maccabi within 32-33 at halftime. Aharoni gave Maccabi the lead, 44-42, soon after the break. Mega found a go-to guy in Brekic, who got help from Kljajevic to give their team a 49-58 margin after 30 minutes. Nothing changed after that, as Mega boosted its lead to 57-71 and never looked back.
