U18 CFBB Paris remained alive in the hunt for the final of the EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL ADIDAS NEXT TOURNAMENT Kaunas with a dominant 45-85 victory over U18 Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt. Ivan Fevrier collected 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals for CFBB, which improved to 2-1 in Group A but can still reach the final if U18 Fenerbahce Istanbul knocks off U18 Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius in the final game of the group stage later in the day. Yves Pons added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks for CFBB. Frankfurt dropped to 0-3 despite 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks from Isaac Bonga. Skyliners will play U18 VEF Riga for seventh place on Saturday.

CFBB came out of the gates on fire with Yanik Blanc scoring 5 points in building a 2-12 lead. Fevrier, Yves Pons and Yohan Choupas all knocked down three-pointers as the advantage grew to 6-23. The gap was 8-26 after 10 minutes. The lead was 20 points at 8-28 on Pons’ next basket. Oliver Babitsch followed that with 6 points for Fraport in getting the deficit to 16-28. Fraport could not get closer and Theo Maledon drained a three-pointer as CFBB’s lead 24-37 at the break. Bonga tried to be more assertive after the intermission with a driving layup and a three-pointer as the margin was 29-37. Fevrier answered with 5 quick points and Blanc hit a three-pointer and the cushion was 29-45. Joel Ayayi and Maledon both added three-pointers and CFBB was ahead 39-55 after three quarters. Ayayi opened the fourth with a three-pointer and a driving layup in pushing the lead to 39-62. And Choupas and Mathis Dossou-Yovo combined for 9 points in an 0-17 run for a 43-81 lead to blow the game open for good.
