Unicaja dominated Lottomatica Roma on the road, 75-88

Unicaja showed its power right at the start of the Euroleague Top 16 by downing Lottomatica 75-88 in Rome, Italy in Group G on Thursday night. Unicaja and Panathinaikos tie for first place in this group, each with a 1-0 record. Unicaja hosts Panathinaikos in Malaga, Spain next week in an already highly-anticipated showdown. Meanwhile, Lottomatica travels to Belgrade, Serbia to face Partizan, as both teams will be looking for their first win in Group G. Marcus Haislip led the winners with 22 points. "We didn't start well and in the end we had the strength to fight, but we spent too much energy and they were more experienced. Unicaja played very physical during the whole game."
GARCIA RENESES, AITO

"We played a great game. We played well on defense and shot the ball well. We lost too many balls at the end, but we won."

Players

"We knew we needed to be aggressive. We started well and we limited Roma, even if they did well in the second half. It’s an important win for us."
