Cedevita Zagreb secured fifth place at the ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT in Rome by collecting a 70-48 victory over Armani Junior Milan. Lovro Mazalin poured in 32 points to lead Cedevita while Bruno Solomun had 13 points and Benedikt Turudic added eight points, nine rebounds and two steals in the win. Michele Serpilli paced Milan with 14 points and eight rebounds while Andrea Pecchia scored 13 points in the loss. Mazalin came into the game hitting just 25 percent of his shots but nailed his first three three-point attempts as Cedevita jumped ahead 13-2. He nailed his fourth straight three-ball and Solomun also hit a long ball as the lead grew to 23-4. Milan finished the first quarter with the final five points to pull within 23-9. Armani cut the deficit to 23-12 but Mazalin again took over with three baskets including back-to-back dunks in an 11-1 run for a 34-16 lead. The advantage was 18 points two more times and Cedevita led 40-20 at intermission. Mazalin hit his fifth three-ball to increase the lead to 45-22 and the cushion grew to 24 points at 48-24. Milan tried to get back into the game and Serpilli nailed a three-pointer as Armani trailed 53-38 after three quarters. Pecchia trimmed the gap to 53-40 and Serpilli made it 57-44 with four minutes to play. The margin was still 60-47 with 2:28 minutes left before Cedevita closed the game with a 10-1 run for the win.
