U18 Divina Seguros Joventut Badalona set up a date with U18 FC Barcelona Lassa in the final of the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Torneig de Bàsquet Junior Ciutat de L'Hospitalet by beating U18 Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas 93-79. The Barcelona-Joventut final will be a repeat of the ANGT Finals championship game from 2013, which was won by Joventut. Joel Parra scored 21 points to lead Joventut in the semifinals while Pol Molins picked up 13 points and 5 assists. Gran Canaria lost despite Javi Lopez pouring in 23 points.

Molins started strong for Joventut with six points while Gran Canaria had 3 three-pointers to keep close 10-9 early on. Joventut got out on the fast break and raced to a 9-0 run to lead 19-9. Gran Canaria allowed only 1 point over the final 2 minutes of the first quarter and trailed just 20-16. Babacar Fam hit for 5 points as Gran Canaria pulled ahead 24-26 but Didac Cuevas scored 8 points and Joventut got a 5-point possession in building a 45-35 advantage, which was 45-36 at the break. Early in the second half, Alejandro Galan came up with 2 three-point plays for Joventut to push the lead to 51-41 while Lopez did all he could to keep Gran Canaria in the game with 8 points to cut the gap to 54-50. But Joventut was still ahead 69-61 after three quarters. Joventut was able to execute better on offense and a three-pointer from Eric Gonzalez and a basket from Parra made it 79-67 with 4 minutes to play. Lopez hit another triple but Parra continued his superb game in the final stretches to keep Gran Canaria at bay the rest of the way.
