Baldo scored inside, Guerra shined with a reverse layup while Moran added another close basket to give Gran Canaria a 60-63. The guests did not allow any shots now and Hemofarm just could not find the way to the basket. Meanwhile, Baldo capped a game-breaking 0-16 run with free throws for a 60-66 Gran Canaria lead. Topic finally stepped up with a jumper but Mario Fernandez hit foul shots while Moran - who else? - two more from downtown for a 66-74 Gran Canaria lead with under 2 minutes to go. Head Coaches

NIKOLIC, MIROSLAV
Hemofarm
"Congratulations to the team from Spain for the win. We are still very unexperienced to play in European competitions. By the way we had lot of problems with injuries. We missed Bakic and Savovic but this is not the reason for our loss. Gran Canaria has a deeper bench. We were not able to control the game during all 40 minutes. At the end we missed concentration in defense. Even though we knew Gran Canaria was a better team than us,we expected the victory but it was only a dream."
MALDONADO, SALVA
Gran Canaria
"As we expected, this was a very hard game. Hemofarm dominated during all 20 minutes in the first half. Even in the third period when we took a 9-point leading margin and we were thinking the game was over, Hemofarm was back into the game. In the final period we made victorious points at least. I must say that my players shot very good from the long distance during the game."

Players

GUERRA, ROBERTO
Gran Canaria
"We knew this would be a very hard game for us. Hemofarm is a respectable contender. In the second half we managed to play much better and clever than before and the result was an important road win."
