Real Madrid opened the 33rd edition of Ciutat de L'Hospitalet Tournament with a 64-76 victory over the hosting team L'Hospitalet on Wednesday morning in L'Hospitalet, Spain. Real jumped to a 1-0 record in Group A while the losing side dropped to 0-1 before the teams will play their second game of the tournament later on today. Real will take on Joventut and L'Hospitalet will face Lietuvos Rytas. Placide Nakidjim led Real with 16 points, Carlos Padilla added 15 and Guillermo Hernangomez finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. L'Hospitalet had 14 points and 10 boards from Jordi De Mas. Real sent a clear message with the tip off and after six minutes held an 18-6 lead with Padilla and Carlos Gomez already scoring six points each. The gap reached 25-10 later in the first quarter before the hosts came back to 36-34 close to the half time buzzer after a 4-11 run. L'Hospitalet managed to tie the score early in the second half and when De Mad scored a lay up in the first minutes of the closing period it was already 49-53 in favor of his team. A three pointer by Sergi Martinez made it 60-61 with 3:08 to play but then Hernangomez scored seven points in a 16-3 run Real created to decide the game.
