Brooks made 4-of-4 from the foul line on the other end, but Rochestie drove the lane for an acrobatic layup, and a triple from Evgeny Baburin made it 59-53. Kinsey’s steal and a dunk extended it to double figures, 82-72, but Todic scored from close range before Sanders and Logan each hit one from long range, giving hope to Sassari, 84-80. Brooks added a pair of free throws to the tally, making it a 2-point game, but Thompkins nailed a jumper from 4 meters with 22 seconds left, giving Nizhny more breathing room at 86-82. Dyson scored a coast-to-coast layup, and after Kinsey scored both from the free throw line, Dyson made another quick layup for 88-86. The visitors got their chance to win or tie when they forced a turnover from Khvostov on the inbound pass with 4.5 seconds to go. After a timeout, ball went to Dyson, who drove the lane, but missed a tough layup, prompting big celebration from Nizhny players and the home crowd.

Head Coaches

BAGATSKIS, AINARS
Nizhny Novgorod
“First of all, I want to congratulate the whole city and Sergey Panov personally for the great work they've down throughout these years. It's a historical game for Nizhny Novgorod. We've started this game really bad but then managed to calm down and play our basketball. In the end we became nervous again for some reason. But this is the Euroleague, where experience wins.”
SACCHETTI, ROMEO
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari
“At these stage of the season every game is up and down. We started well, were agressive and intense. But we need to learn how to win this kind of game. This game is a great experience for us.”

Players

PARAKHOUSKI, ARTSIOM
Nizhny Novgorod
“That was exciting night for whole team: we played our first Euroleage game. We were awful at the beginning, made a lot of turnovers. But from the start of second quarter we played as a team, using our strengths, and at the end we proved that we are able to play on this level.”
ANTONOV, SEMEN
Nizhny Novgorod
“It's a historical win for us. We've come a really long way to get this one. It wasn't a great start to the game. But this what our team is famous for - we fight till the end. I hope the fans enjoyed the show tonight and will come again.”
TODIC, MIROSLAV
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari
“We started well but then we had some problems with pick-and-roll defense. Taylor Rochestie hurt us a lot. We'll just hope we play better next week, that's it.”
BROOKS, JEFF
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari
“It's a tough game. We thought we were in control, but Nizhny Novgorod came back. We take this lesson and move on to the next one versus Anadalou Efes.”
