Adi Zahiragic - KK Spars Sarajevo - JT Rome 2012KK Spars Sarajevo survived a thriller in the second game of the Rome Nike International Junior Tournament on Thursday against host Stella Azzurra by 68-74. Spars started the last period with a 60-68 edge, but defenses kept points scarce and the hosts used that to trim the deficit down to 68-72 with one minute to go. However, Two free throws by Aleksej Nikolic made it 68-74 for Spars to escape with its first win in Group A. Nikolic led the winners with 24 points, Doko Salic added 20 points plus 14 rebounds, Nedim Buza had 11 and Mahir Ferhatbegovic posted 10 for the winners. Stella Azzurra was led by Salvatore Forte's 18 points, Daniel Donzelli had 13 and Diego Terenzi posted 11. The first half belonged to Spars, especially thanks to a starting 21-32 first quarter. Stella Azzurra reacted but the low percentages from the field doomed the hosts despite trimming the deficit little by little. KK Spars managed to survive as the cold head of Nikolic did the rest.
