U18 Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius raced away to a convincing 103-65 victory over U18 Mega Bemax Belgrade to start its Group A campaign at the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals. Four Lietuvos Rytas players scored in double figures, topped by Gediminas Mokseckas with 17 while Deividas Sirvydis hit 16 points - 14 alone in the second quarter. Erikas Jermolajevas added 14 points and Simas Jarumbauskas chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Mega turned the ball over 25 times and shot just 33 percent from the field for the game. Bogdan Nedeljkovic was the only Mega player to score in double figures with 10 points while Luka Cerovina, Pavle Kuzmanovic and Altin Islamovic all had 9 points in the defeat.

Mega went ahead for the first time at 2-3 and the game was still tight in the early going at 9-8. But Jarumbauskas and Azoulas Tubelis both nailed 2 three-pointers in a 17-3 surge for a 26-11 lead. The gap was 30-16 after 10 minutes. Sirvydis nailed two three-pointers of his own as the gap grew to 42-23 and the cushion grew to 56-28 after 8 straight points from Sirvydis. The score was 58-33 at intermission.

Lietuvos Rytas did not let up at all and kept Mega scoreless for the first three minutes of the second half and pushed the lead to 70-35. And it was 86-49 after three quarters. The fourth quarter was more of the same and Lietuvos Rytas really didn’t even let Mega build motivation ahead of its next game.
