CEZ Nymburk overwhelmed Gasterra Flames 93-60 at home in Nymburk, Czech Republic, to take sole possession of first place in Group C with a 2-0 record. Tre Simmons and A.J. Abrams led the hosts with 18 points apiece, as the latter hit a perfect 5 of 5 from downtown. Pavel Pumprla, Lamayne Wilson and Mike Lenzly added 12 points each for the winners. David Bell's 18 points led the losers, which are now last in the group at 0-2. Gasterra kept it close until the middle of the third quarter, when Nymburk hit the gas and the visitors could not find the basket, scoring a mere 5 points in the fourth quarter. Nymburk filled the basket from downtown, hitting 13 of 28, to surge past Gasterra, which only managed 5 of 16.

After a scoreless first minute, Gasterra struck first on a Jason Dourisseau layup, then the visitors added a three-pointer by Alexander Wesby to go up 0-5. Nymburk finally got on the board after three minutes of play as Simmons hit from the outside. After Sergio De Randamie and Eugene Lawrence exchanged baskets, Simmons buried a three-pointer from downtown to tie the game at 7-7. Bell answered in kind, then De Randamie extended the lead to 7-13. After Simmons split free throws, Thomas Koenis banked in a layup and an outside jumper to push Gasterra’s lead to 8-17, which prompted a Nymburk timeout. The scoring pace quickened with two minutes to go in the quarter as Drew Naymick put in a layup and Lamayne Wilson hit from the outside for Nymburk, but Jessey Voorn nailed a shot from beyond the arc to keep Nymburk at a distance, 12-20. The hosts scored the last 5 points of the quarter, however, as Simmons hit from downtown and Naymick from close range to cut the deficit to 17-20. The hosts opened the second quarter with the same scoring momentum as Pumprla got on the scoreboard with his first points, a two-pointer and foul shot to knot the game at 20-20. Then Lenzly continued the run, hitting from the outside to give Nymburk its first lead. Bell stepped up for Gasterra again with 5 consecutive points on a another three-pointer and short-range jumper as the visitors reclaimed the lead 22-25. Lenzly and Naymick answered as the hosts edged back out front. Ladislav Sokolovsky soon buried a three-pointer as the lead seesawed back in Nymburk’s favor, 30-27. Dourisseau split free throws and Wesby put in a layup for Gasterra, then Naymick hit a layup as well to keep Nymburk out front 32-30. The next 4 points went to the hosts, courtesy of a Wilson three-pointer and a split free throw by Lawrence to extend the host’s lead to 36-30. Wesby added 2 points for Gasterra, then Abrams split free throws and Pumprla dunked the ball to put Nymburk out front 39-32 and force a Gasterra timeout with a minute left. Abrams and Bell exchange baskets in the final 23 seconds, as the half ended with Nymburk out front 41-34.

Dourisseau and Pumprla exchanged baskets to open the third quarter, then Bell hit a jumper to cut Nymburk’s lead to 43-38. After Lawrence and Wesby exchanged baskets, Wilson drained a three-pointer to give the hosts their biggest lead of the game, 48-40. But Gasterra kept working, cutting the lead by 4 through Wesby and Bell. Koenis cut the lead even more, but Abrams came up with a three-pointer that pushed the Nymburk lead to 51-46. Gasterra hung tough, as Bell and Avis Wyatt scored the next 4 points, then Ties Theeuwkens banged in 3 more from downtown after a Pumprla layup as Gasterra sliced the lead to 56-53. Nymburk kept scoring, however, on a Wilson layup and Abrams three-pointer to take a 61-53 lead. A Pumprla layup, followed by an exchange of free throws and a Wilson dunk with 30 seconds left gave Nymburk a 65-55 lead to end the quarter. Lenzly added 2 more points to start the fourth, which De Randamie answered with 2 free throws for a 67-57 score, where it remained for more than two minutes. After Pumprla split free throws, Simmons nailed 5 straight points to push the lead to 72-57. A minute later Nymburk resumed its torrid scoring as Lenzly banked in a layup and Simmons buried 5 more point. After a dunk by Radek Necas, Kevin McCleery split free throws for Gasterra, which ended a six-minute dry spell and set the score at 81-58. Nymburk continued to pile on the points as Lukas Palyza and Abrams buried three-pointers to extend the lead to 87-58 and essentially wrapping up the win with time to spare.
