Shved took over after the break, getting help from Charles Jenkins to bring Khimki within 57-64 late in the third quarter. De Colo, Rodriguez and Hunter boosted CSKA's lead to 64-81 and the guests never looked back.

Hunter rescued CSKA with free throws and a layup and De Colo struck from downtown for a 11-14 CSKA edge. Hunter hit a jump hook and De Colo added a three-point play, but CSKA found a new go-to guy in Westermann, who followed a layup with back-to-back triples to boost the guests' lead to 17-29 after 10 minutes. De Colo followed a three-pointer with a layup that capped a 0-14 run, giving CSKA a 17-34 margin early in the second quarter. Markovic hit free throws and Thomas Robinson added a three-point play but Westermann and Hunter kept CSKA way ahead, 22-39. Shved and Markovic kept pacing Khimki and back-to-back layups by Todorovic gave Khimki hope at 31-44. Victor Rudd took over with a slam-and-one and free throws and a one-handed alleyoop dunk by Hunter made it a 20-point game, 31-51. Shved and Todorovic brought Khimki closer, 37-53, at halftime. Gill and Shved scored around the basket soon after the break but a triple by Will Clyburn kept CSKA way ahead, 41-56. Thomas followed a dunk with a layup ìn a 7-0 run that Vialtsev capped with a three-pointer for a 48-56 Khimki deficit. Westermann answered from downtown but back-to-back layups by Shved and a triple by Jenkins made it a seven-point game, 55-62. Hunter dunked and layups by De Colo and Semen Antonov gave CSKA fresh air, 58-68, after 30 minutes. Rodriguez buried a couple of a three-pointers early in the fourth quarter, Nikita Kurbanov also struck from beyond the arc and consecutive driving layups by De Colo sealed the outcome, 64-81, with over four minutes left. Nothing changed after that, as CSKA had cruised to a well-deserved win.

Both teams return to Turkish Airlines EuroLeague action next week - Khimki hosts defending champion Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul on Thursday while CSKA visits archrivals Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday.

"Congratulations to CSKA, they played excellent. Of course, they have a lot of talent and can play one-on-one in all positions and create many mismatches. On the other hand, for us, in order to compete with CSKA, we must have better circumstances. We were without Honeycutt, Anderson, Zubkov and Sokolov. We have some problems right now in the preparation, and we have have to keep in mind that, for us, the game against Efes was really tough and important, as you know. I have nothing to complain about to my players. I want to, one more time, congratulate them for qualifying to the playoffs. We have two more games - hopefully, Honeycutt is coming back, Anderson is some time with treatment and our concern right now is to be healthy in the playoffs, to see who will be our opponent and fight."

"I would like to congratulate my team for another win. We approached the game very seriously, like we promised, despite the fact that we clinched the first spot on the previous game. We played very seriously and with all the respect to Khimki as an opponent and to the rest of the teams in the league. I think that we were dominant most of the game. We faced some troubles in the third quarter, and I have to mention the fact that Khimki was missing significant players like Anderson, Honeycutt and Zubkov. Despite that fact, they are very talented and have a lot of offensive players. The fact that we kept them low while we scored our average says a lot. We shared the ball petty good when we did not turn it over. If you see the stats and go by the quarters, we only had 3 turnovers and +12 in the first quarter, +4 in the second quarter with 7 turnovers and -6 in the third with another 7 turnovers. So 14 turnovers in two quarters, and then two in the fourth quarter, with +7. Overall, that was the biggest issue because we outhustled them on the boards. As I said, congratulations to my players, we have another two games left."

“I don’t think we should have put ourselves in this position. We got down by a lot against a great team like that and it was tough to come back. Starting from myself, I didn’t have a good game at all tonight. All we can do is come back to the next game, trying to play as tough as we can.”
HUNTER, OTHELLO
CSKA Moscow
"I think it was defense (heped us get a good run in the end). We were hitting open shots but were stopping their main guys. The guys got into foul trouble, so we just tried what we needed to do to win. They were switching a lot so we posted up and swinged the ball. We know basketball is a game of runs. They made some good runs and we just needed to get some stops. I think that was the main thing - we got some stops and then we hit some shots."
