All five starters scored in double figures as SLUC Nancy remained alive in the race for the elimination round with an 84-78 victory at home over Deutsche Bank Skyliners in Group D. Nancy improved to 4-5 and can still overtake Azovmash Mariupol for third place in the group. Zabian Dowdell made four foul shots in the final minute to finish the game with 11 points. Ricardo Greer paced the team with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Michael Bauer scored 17 points while hitting 5 three-pointers and Jeff Greer chipped in 15 points and Victor Samnick had 10 points and 7 rebounds. Nancy travels next week to Anwil Wloclawek and must win and have Azovmash lose to move into the next round. Skyliners dropped to 0-9 despite 21 points from Ilian Evtimov and 18 points and 8 rebounds by Koko Archibong. Jimmy McKinney added 14 points and Derrick Allen had 12 points. Deutsche Bank finishes off its ULEB Cup season at home against Azovmash.

Ricardo Greer opened the scoring though it was Skyliners which pulled ahead 6-7 on Pascal Roller's three-ball. But Nancy went on a tear as Jeff Greer had a three-point play and a three-pointer and Bauer knocked down three triples as the hosts went up 25-12. Evtimov knocked down a three-ball of his own and Skyliners trailed 30-19 after one period. Evtimov scored first in the second period and the lead was down to 34-29 after a three-point play by Archibong and a triple by Evtimov. But baskets by both Greers and a Bauer three-ball pushed the advantage back to 41-31. Still, Jimmie Hunt and Evtimov answered with long balls and Nancy led just 41-39. And another Hunt three-pointer cut the deficit to 45-44. But Nancy led 50-44 after Dowdell's basket just before the break. Evtimov made it a four-point game to start the second half but Samnick scored three baskets in a 12-2 run as Nancy opened a 62-48 gap. McKinney made two baskets as Deutsche Bank closed to within 62-54. But Jeff Greer converted a three-point play and Amadou Aboubaca's basket made it 71-58, which Skyliners trimmed to 71-60 after three periods. McKinney opened the fourth with a score and Archibong's three-pointer made it 73-67. Evtimov would convert a three-point play to cut the game to 75-70. But Bauer struck again from long range and the lead was 80-70 after two Dowdell foul shots with just more than a minute left. Allen drained a three-pointer and Roller's basket left Skyliners down just 80-75. It was just a four-point game 82-78 after an Evtimov three-ball. But Dowdell made two foul shots to ice the victory.

Head Coaches

MONSCHAU, JEAN-LUC
SLUC Nancy
"We realize one more time that the ULEB Cup is a strong league because Frankfurt didn't win any game but tonight they showed they are a very good team and I'm sure they will win the last game. We played seriously and we will continue to work hard for the last game of the regular season against Wloclawek."
DIDIN, MURAT
Skyliners Frankfurt
"Now, we have the entire roster but during the second halftime we were tired mentally and physically. We got back but Nancy is the co-leader in the French League and the arena is really great. We showed with three more players we can play at the same level in ULEB Cup but it wasn’t enough tonight."

Players

GREER, JEFF
SLUC Nancy
"It was a good game for us. We played with control and we showed a great basketball offense during the first half. I think it’s a pretty result for the rest of the season. Now, we must to keep own concentration to 100%"
EVTIMOV, ILIAN
Skyliners Frankfurt
"Nancy started the game very well but during the second quarter we came back, but in this arena it’s very hard to stay in the game and play hard during 40 minutes. I'm disappointed because it’s not the first time we lost with a close score."
