Head Coaches

SFAIROPOULOS, IOANNIS
Olympiacos Piraeus
"It is a difficult moment, because Olympiacos is out of the playoffs. We are very sorry for this, but since the season is still on, it is not the right time to analyze the reasons. We had a lot of injuries and didn't manage to keep our balance. The system was not fair because we finished first in the regular season and had a very tough group in the Top 16. Next year the system will be more fair and the teams will have the opportunity to show their value. Olympiacos is a great team with a lot of success and we will keep fighting, as we did it tonight against a team which is the favorite to win it all. We trust our team and I don't think that there is a dispute. Regarding myself I feel very proud to be here and I am doing my job the best possible way. I would like to thank the fans for their support, which has been emotional."
ITOUDIS, DIMITRIS
CSKA Moscow
"I have to congratulate my team because we advanced to the playoffs with the home-court advantage. The team has big character and proved it in a very tough group, where seven teams gave a big fight for the four spots, while Zalgiris Kaunas played a major role with its victories. Olympiacos had a lot of misfortune this season, but their people know much better why they didn't make it to the playoffs. I am not a prophet to make predictions on the four teams that will make the Final Four, but we are expecting big battles. Nothing is offered for granted: you have to fight and give your best in every game. We are playing good basketball and this is the way we have to go up to the end."

Players

MANTZARIS, VANGELIS
Olympiacos Piraeus
"There is a disappointment after what happened this season. It is not possible to bring the time back, so we have to look forward and change our mindset. It is not possible to win forever and now our obligation is to win the Greek championship. We made a lot of mistakes that brought us here. We have to work together and be ready for the playoffs in the domestic league."
LOJESKI, MATT
Olympiacos Piraeus
"I am very happy to be back to action and especially in front of this crowd after three months. I want to play the big games but unfortunately I was unable to do so in the Top 16. Now we have to make everything possible in order to win the Greek championship, which is our last goal of this season."
SPANOULIS, VASSILIS
Olympiacos Piraeus
"We are disappointed because we didn't make it to the playoffs. It is strange, because Olympiacos is not used to such a situation. We are a team that achieved a lot of miracles in the last years and now we are out: but this is sports. Now we have to improve our game and avoid mistakes in order to reach our target and win the Greek championship. We suffered some unexpected losses in the Top 16 and when a failure happens, everybody is involved and has his own responsibility. I don't like excuses and talk about injuries or whatever, because we have a situation to handle and bounce back. Tonight we played for our pride and our history, because Olympiacos is a big club. We tried to win it, but it didn't happen. On behalf of the whole team I want to thank our fans who came tonight and pushed us on a unique way. Το me this support counts more than a victory."
HINES, KYLE
CSKA Moscow
"We did it and this makes us very happy. We had a tough group, maybe the toughest in the Euroleague history and to be first is a great success. Crvena Zvezda Belgrade is a difficult opponent with athletic players and we have to pay a lot of attention. Olympiacos is always a very strong team. I had a great time with them and I feel perfect now in CSKA Moscow. I won titles with Olympiacos and I will have this team always in my heart."
DE COLO, NANDO
CSKA Moscow
"We knew that even when they were out of chances to advance, it would be a tough game. They were going to play for the fans. I think tonight is a good win because we played strong, like our coach wants."
