Ludwigsburg took its second straight win this season, this time at home against BC Kalev/Cramo on Tuesday by 87-62. Despite the win, the German team stands last in Group G with a 2-7 record that leaves it out of the elimination rounds. Kalev drops to 3-6 and is now in the worst starting position for the final day race with Panionios and ASCO Slask. A great third quarter allowed the hosts to finally pull away and break the game open, and made them celebrate a much desired home win with its own fans. Ronald Ross led the way for the winners with 18 points, Brandon Woudstra added 17, Nils Mittmann posted 12 and Heiko Schaffartzik nailed 10. For the guests, Travis Reed had 16 points and Kristjan Kangur added 11.

Ludwigsburg started strong in the first minutes and a 5-0 run including Brandon Woudstra's triple made it 15-8 for the hosts. Jaso Dourisseau hit a new three to make it a double-digit game, 18-8, and Heiko Schaffartzik soon added a new one while BC Kalev was trying to survive from the free throw line, but that wasn't enough as after 10 minutes the hosts dominated by 23-14. The first plays of the second quarter were an exchange of baskets for both sides but Ronald Ross and his basket made it 35-20 for Ludwigsburg. It was Tanel Sokk who led a shy reaction in offense by Kalev and his four straight points took the game to the break with a 43-33 advantage for the hosts. The third quarter was the critical point of the game as the hosts managed to be very efficient both in offense and defense.

Head Coaches

POROPAT, SILVANO
Ludwigsburg
"We played a very good game tonight. I trust this team and I like the attitude of this team. Of course there are some things we can do better, but overall I’m really satisfied with our victory. The ULEB Cup was a good experience for me, for our team and the whole club."
MATIC, VESELIN
Kalev Cramo Tallinn
"This was an important game for us. Just with a victory we would have chances to go to the next round. Maybe the pressure was too high for the team."

Players

MITTMANN, NILS
Ludwigsburg
"We improved our game in the last week. Especially our team game. The team profit is more important than the individual profit."
KRIISA, VALMO
Kalev Cramo Tallinn
"We expected that this game would be very though. We couldn't play our teamplay and that was the main reason we lost."
