Besiktas Integral Forex rallied from an 8-point third-quarter deficit to beat Radnicki Kragujevac 90-76 and clinch first place in Group H. The hosts scored the final 11 points of the game to wrap up the victory. Besiktas improved to 7-3, while Radnicki, which had already secured a spot in the Last 32 stage, dropped to 5-5 and finished the regular season group in third place. Chris Lofton sank 6 threes en route to 20 points for the winners. Muratcan Guler compiled 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists, Mehmet Yagmur added 14 points, Tomislav Ruzic scored 12 and Sundiata Gaines 11 plus 6 assists for the winners. Stefan Bircevic paced Radniski with 21 points and Sava Lesic finished with 10 in defeat.

The game got off to a high-scoring start with a Bircevic triple giving Radnicki an early 3-7 edge. The hosts reeled off a 9-0 response with a pair of Lofton threes. At one point the lead changed hands on four straight possessions and was tied at 20-20 after a Dennis Seeley triple. Lofton added another three and Yagmur lifted the hosts to a 30-22 lead after 10 minutes. Ruzic connected from downtown to make it a double-digit lead and his free throws later boosted the advantage to 37-24. Stefan Balmazovic answered with a three. Besiktas failed to capitalize on an unsportsmanlike foul called on Lesic. Instead Dusan Mladen nailed a three and Lesic trimmed the difference to 5. Balmazovic and Lesic each struck again in bringing Radnicki within 44-42 at the break. A Bircevic three-pointer put Radnicki in front, 49-50, early in the second half. The visitors did not let up and eventually Nikola Kalinic free throws helped complete a 3-15 charge for an 8-point lead. Guler carried Besiktas back to within 64-65 at the end of the third quarter. Caner Topaglu scored twice as Besiktas went in front 70-65. The game was still close, 79-76 after Andreja Stevanovic’s tip-in with three minutes to go. However Lofton sandwiched a pair of three-pointers around 2 Brad Buckman free throws. Yagmur added another triple in an 11-0 finish that clinched the game and first place in Group H.

Head Coaches

KANDEMIR, AHMET
Besiktas Integral Forex Istanbul
"Our goal was finishing our group at the top. In fact, winning 4 games out of 5 on the road was a big step. We started the game very well, but then lost our rhythm. We had hard times in the third quarter, but with tougher defense, we played relaxed last minutes and got the win. I congratulate all my players."
NIKOLIC, MIROSLAV
Radnicki Kragujevac
"Our goal was to qualify and we got it. The seeding was not primarily important for us. Besiktas was the strongest team in our group and they got a deserved first place. Despite some economic problems, my players gave their best throughout the group games. I believe that we can go even further in Eurocup after the Last 32."

Players

LOFTON, CHRIS
Besiktas Integral Forex Istanbul
"After a good start for us, Radnicki managed to come back in the third quarter and take the lead. With better defensive stops we finished out strong. We're excited to finish the group in the first place. Now we're looking forward to the Last 32."
