"This is an important win for us that gets us closer to our goal, which is to make it to the Top 16. I am a little bit surprised by our lack of aggressiveness in the first half. We allowed Olympiacos to play easy, effective basketball, they felt comfortable and were able to circulate the ball pretty well. We had prepared the defense against Lazaros Papadopoulos, but one thing is to do it in practice and another one is to be able to do it during the game. We improved our intensity in the second half and our fans helped us a lot when things didn’t work for us. Once we managed to get the lead, everything was easier for us."
IVKOVIC, DUSAN
Olympiacos Piraeus
"It was a very tough game that went down to the last shot. My team had a big opportunity to win this game. We were much better than Caja Laboral in the first half and played much better defense. We dominated the game throughout the opening three quarters but we lost our focus from that moment. We allowed easy baskets, our shooting percentage was very low and committed crucial turnovers. This is a very young team that needs more games and to gain more experience. We even had the last shot to tie or win the game, but couldn’t score, so there is nothing else to say but other than congratulating Caja Laboral for this win."

Players

PRIGIONI, PABLO
Caja Laboral
"It was a pretty tough game tonight. Olympiacos started the game with a lot of intensity. They did a great job in the opening three quarters, both on offense and defense, playing patiently and giving us a lot of trouble. We found ourselves down by 10 points and that made us feel very uncomfortable. We managed to turn everything upside down in the fourth quarters due to our heart and effort. We kept believing we could win. We committed mistakes but played with desire. I felt frustrated at halftime because I was unable to make a shot, even the open ones. I tried to change my mind during the break and focus on helping the team as much as I could, with a pass, a rebound - whatever. Destiny wanted me to take the last shot, and I was lucky that it went in."
GECEVICIUS, MARTYNAS
Olympiacos Piraeus
"It feels really bad to lose a game like this. We were very close to win tonight. We led for the best part of the game but couldn’t keep playing at the same level in the end, and that was critical for us. We lost intensity and concentration in the crucial moments. I felt that I got fouled in the last play of the game, and that’s why I claimed for that, but this is how life is, and there is nothing else to say about it. We hope to improve in the next games and forget this defeat."
PRINTEZIS, GEORGIOS
Olympiacos Piraeus
"We are a very young team and still need to build our character as a group. We played pretty well in the first three quarters but committed important mistakes when it mattered most. We were doing things well, despite of the missed free throws, but in the last five minutes we lost concentration and couldn’t win the game."
