Elan Chalon knocked down 14 three-pointers in grabbing a fine 93-85 victory at home over Akasvayu Girona in the first leg of their ULEB Cup Last 32 series. Bryan Bracey scored a season-high 23 points for the winners, while Darrel Mitchell collected 17 points and matched a ULEB Cup elimination rounds record with 12 assists to lead the hosts, who led by 15 late in third quarter before allowing Akasvayu to cut the deficit in the final period. Xavier Corosine added 16 points for Chalon, Moussa Badiane chipped in 12 points and John Ford had 10. Girona gave up a late three-pointer that could come back to hurt it come next week's return leg. Akasvayu was led by Marc Gasol's 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, and Ivan Radenovic had 17 points and 6 rebounds. Erik Daniels and Arriel McDonald both tallied 16 points in a losing effort.

Daniels opened the game for Akasvayu and Bracey evened at 2-2. Bracey, Philippe Braud and Mitchell all drained three-pointers as Elan jumped ahead 11-7. Another Braud bomb made it 16-9. McDonald answered with a three only to see Mitchell hit again from downtown. Daniels converted a three-point play to cut the deficit to 21-17 – though Badiane scored 4 straight points and Mitchell completed his own three-point play for a 30-22 advantage. Two Victor Sada baskets had Girona within 32-26 after one period. Radenovic's foul shots started the second quarter for Akasvayu. And it was 32-20 after a Gasol score. Chalon's long-ball barrage continued with Bracey hitting from downtown only to see Gasol hit again for a 35-34 scoreline. Fernando San Emeterio kept the guests close and tied the game at 41-41. Corosine answered with a three, but Daniels hit right back from downtown. Ford, however, grabbed two inside baskets and Corosine launched again from long range and Chalon led 53-44 at the break.

Akasvayu started the second half with a Daniels basket before Bracey scored twice – including a three-pointer for a 58-46 advantage. A McDonald triple trimmed the margin to 60-52, but Bracey converted a three-point play and 2 Badiane foul shots gave Chalon a 67-53 cushion. Radenovic scored 4 straight points and 2 free throws by Gasol brought Akasvayu to within 69-59 only to see Rowan Barrett join the long-range attack before Corosine drained 2 more triples for a 78-63 lead. Roman Montanez's two foul shots cut the deficit to 78-65 going into the fourth. Baskets by McDonald and Radenovic chipped the margin into single digits at 78-69. Bracey was again on target from long range and Rolan Roberts's basket gave Chalon an 87-75 led with less than three minutes to play. Girona refused to go away and Radenovic and McDonald both knocked down long balls and the lead was only 87-81. Mitchell made 3 foul shots while Gasol knocked down four free throws for a 90-85 score. But Mitchell made up for his miss by hitting Chalon's 14th three for the winning margin.
