Head Coaches

SKOURTOPOULOS, ATHANASIOS
Panionios Athens
"Unfortunately, we came to the game without being as focused and serious as we had to be. We were playing against an excellent team, a team which we didn’t respect on the court and we paid the price. We were forced to chase from the very first minutes of the game. In the second half our effort was great. My players overachieved and managed to come back in the game. But at the crucial moments, we lost some defensive rebounds and lost the game. I want to congratulate my players for their effort in the second half and also I want to thank our fans for their support."
UVALIN, MIHAILO
Stelmet Zielona Gora
"I want to congratulate my players for this great victory, the first in a European cup in the history of our team. The first half of the game was a dream half for my team. We put a lot of pressure on Panionios on defense; we had energy and made good shots. We forced Panionios into a lot of turnovers and made their game look really bad. I was sure that Panionios would come back in the second half. We allowed Panionios to come back cause we didn’t have the same energy as in the first half. We were frustrated and we lost the control of the game because of the pressure from Panionios. We were pathetic on defense and not as aggressive as in the first half. But there is an excuse because we are an inexperienced team. This is a great and historic victory and everyone in the team gets credit."

Players

ATHANASOULAS, IOANNIS
Panionios Athens
"We had a bad night. We did nothing that we had planned before the game, we did nothing that the coaches said to us. We lost the game in the first half when we were down by 25 points. In the second half we gave all our best, we got within 4 points but it was already too late."
STEVIC, OLIVER
Stelmet Zielona Gora
"I want to congratulate everyone in the team, players and coaches for this win. We started the game with a lot of energy, especially on defense. We showed that we were mentally ready for this game. In the second half we didn’t have the same energy on the court, but we made some lucky shots in the last crucial moments and finally got the win which is very, very important."
