Valencia Basket got back to its winning ways in style, cruising past Stelmet Zielona Gora 90-53 on Tuesday night. Valencia improved to 2-1 in the second place of Group O, while the Polish champ dropped to 0-3 in the last place. Valencia started pulling away in the first quarter, then started the second with a 12-2 run en route to 43-24 halftime lead. The margin almost doubled in the second half with six Valencia players finishing in double figures. Juan Jose Triguero scored with 14 points, while Bojan Dubljevic and Justin Doellman each had 13. Romain Sato added 12 points plus 7 rebounds, Pau Ribas had 11 points plus 7 assists, and Sam Van Rossom also scored 11. Meanwhile, Vladimir Dragicevic was the lone visiting scorer in double digits with 15 points, and Christian Eyenga had 9 points plus 8 rebounds in defeat.
The two sides traded blows early, with Dragicevic scoring couple of baskets, and Aaron Cel nailing a jumper, while Rafa Martinez hit a triple for the hosts and 9-9. Valencia pulled away with a 10-2 run, as Doellman contributed with 7 points, including a triple and a dunk, as the hosts held 21-13 after 10 minutes. At the start of the second, Ribas hit a pair of three-pointers, and had a pair of steals, fueling another run that got Valencia to 33-15. Chamil Kanas hit from long range, before Dragicevic and Cel added baskets from close for 37-22, but Triguero answered with a jumper and a dunk, before Van Rossom finished the half with basket just before the buzzer and 43-24. The hosts kept the rhythm and the pace after the break. Sato and Eyenga traded triples, before Eyenga added a dunk to the tally, helping to keep the visitors within 51-33. But Dubljevic and Doellman scored from downtown for 60-36. Sato hit a jumper to end the third, and a triple to start the fourth, and 67-40. Margin reached 75-41 after back-to-back triples from Lubos Barton and Martinez. Dragicevic scored layups on two occasions, and Eyeng had another dunk for Zielona Gora, but Ribas nailed another three, and baskets from Dubljevic, Barton and Triguero closed out the game
