FC Regal Barcelona is one win away from keeping the crown of the Ciudad de L'Hospitalet tournament for one more year after beating FIATC Joventut Badalona 73-59 in the first semi-finals of the tournament on Friday morning at L'Hospitalet, Spain. In the title game Barca will meet the winner in the second semi-finals between Lietuvos Rytas and Cajasol Andalucia. Joventut will take on the loser of the second semi-finals in hope to capture the third place after registering its first loss in a crucial moment. Josep Perez had 26 points with five three pointers for Barca while Alexandr Zhigulin added 17 with 10 boards. Joventut saw Albert Homs deliver 20 points, Sergi Hernandez collected 17 points and 13 rebounds while Gerard Sevillano finished with 11. Joventut arrived to the game as the only team in the tournament still without a loss but saw Barca and Perez explode already in the first quarter. Perez scored 17 points and all of his five three pointers in the game in the first ten minutes as his team took a 29-22 lead. Joventut didn't score a field goal for over five minutes in the second period but stayed close behind and with good minutes by Homs walked to the locker room just one point away 39-38. After a close quarter the teams entered the deciding quarter tied at 52-52 before a 9-0 run by Barca, capped by five points by Perez, created a 63-54 gap with 2:29 to play. This hole was too deep for Joventut to escape from, and Barca celebrated a big win.
