Tuesday was an historical night for Euro Roseto of Italy, which won its first-ever game in Europe 77-86 on the court of Belgian champion Telindus Oostende. The protagonist of the night has been the veteran shooter Miroslav Radosevic, who could not be stopped and ended up scoring 31 points for the winners. His big scoring night was deceptive, however, because it came within the context of 40 minutes of team ball by Roseto. The visitors had three other players score in double figures, with Marko Milic netting 18 points, Ben Davis 13 (plus 8 rebounds) and Diego Fajardo 12. For Oostende, which played without injured scorer Ralph Biggs, the main man was Teo Cizmic with 23 points, followed by 16 from power forward Virgil Stanescu and 11 from Christopher Beghin. The loss causes Oostende to fall to 0-3 record while Roseto is now 1-2.

Roseto took the head early in the game with slim advantage that grew up during the first period to a 19-28 scoreboard after 10 minutes. Without Biggs, Oostende had plenty problems to find a way to score against the hard-rock defense of the Italians. On the basis of rebounds alone, which the Belgians would end up winning 37-27, Oostende stayed in the game in the second periodas Stanescu and Beghin fought under the boards. Still, the scoreboard read 33-44 at halftiem for the guests. The third period was decisive as Radosevic exploded and led his team to its biggest advantage, 16 points, at 46-62. Despite being at home, for Oostende the game seemed over. Roseto made sure of that by playing an excellent defense against the scorers Oostende had left and it wasn't long before the Italian team had a victory to enter into the club's history book.
