Dominion, Mumbru hold off Lietuvos Rytas

Dominion Bilbao Basket defeated Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius 80-76 on Wednesday at Bilbao Arena in Round 3 of the 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season. Dominion evened its record at 1-1. Rytas was handed its second defeat in succession and saw its record fall to 0-2. Alex Mumbru stepped up big with 19 points on 4 of 7 three-point shooting for the winners. Scott Bamforth added 14 points and Axel Hervelle and Michael Eric added 10 points apiece. For Rytas, David Logan led the way with 19 points and 6 assists. Drew Gordon added 16 points and 10 rebounds and Arturas Jomantas and Corey Fisher each contributed 10 points.

Dominion soared to a 22-13 cushion after the opening quarter. The hosts remained in the driver's seat through the next 10 minutes and held the upper hand at 39-31 as they headed to the lockers at halftime. After the break, Rytas closed the gap, but Dominion remained ahead 59-56 by the end of the third quarter. The game came down to the closing minutes when Eric stepped up at both ends to help the men in black claim the victory.
