Henry Domercant scored 18 points and Robertas Javtokas notched a double-double as Dynamo Moscow all but guaranteed a spot in the ULEB Cup Final Eight with a convincing 75-89 victory at Lukoil Academic in the Last 16 first leg. Moscow used an 11-0 run to open a 12-point lead in the second quarter and Lukoil did not get closer than 7 points the rest of the way as the guests scored the final 7 points of the game to build a solid advantage going into the return leg. Domercant's 18 points led the way for Dynamo, which also received 13 points and 12 rebounds from Javtokas. Travis Hansen added 14 points, Dmitry Domani had 11 and Antonis Fotsis chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. The key was Dynamo's tough perimeter defense, holding Lukoil to just 7 of 25 (28%) from long range. Willie Deane had 18 points for Lukoil, while Pero Antic scored 14 points, but made just 4 of 18 shots – including 1 of 8 from long range. Todor Stoykov also scored 14 points and Larry O'Bannon added 11. The return leg will be played next week in Moscow.

Deane's foul shots opened the scoring for the hosts, before Fotsis nailed a triple as Dynamo jumped ahead 2-3. It was 5-8 after a long ball by Domercant and Milos Vujanic's first basket. Tencho Banev's score brought Lukoil to within 9-10, but the guests made the first run of the game with Vujanic's three-ball finishing a 0-8 surge for a 9-18 lead. The advantage was still 15-25 after Domercant's second three-pointer. Moscow missed two straight three-pointers and O'Bannon knocked down a three to trim the deficit to 23-27. Dynamo led 25-29 after one period. O'Bannon's free throw started the second quarter and then he drained a triple to make it 29-30. But Domani scored three consecutive baskets – including 2 triples – in Moscow's 0-11 run to open a 29-41 gap. The guests increased their lead to 35-49 after long balls by Hansen and Domercant. Lukoil was not ready to give up as Stoykov made 4 foul shots and a three-pointer to trim the margin to 44-51. Javtokas scored a final basket to make it 44-53 at the break.

Fotsis began the third quarter and then drained a triple, followed by another three by Domercant as Dynamo pushed the lead to 44-61. Hansen's long ball made it an 18-point cushion. Antic hit two baskets, including a three, as Lukoil scored the next 9 points. Domercant's basket made it 57-68 going into the fourth. Deane opened the final period only to see Sergey Monya hit back-to-back buckets for Dynamo. Monya's next basket pushed the advantage to 62-76. The lead was still 65-80 midway through the fourth after Petr Samoylenko's score. But the hosts refused to give up as Deane made back-to-back baskets and Antic converted a three-point play to cut the deficit to 72-80. Nenad Canak's score trimmed the deficit to 75-82 with under three minutes to play. But Lukoil failed to convert on its next three possessions and Domani's three re-established a 75-89 advantage.
