Brose Bamberg outlasted EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in an overtime thriller to win 106-102 on Thursday at Brose Arena. The German champs erased a 17-point second-quarter deficit and went on to set a club scoring record; it was the first time Bamberg ever scored 100 points in the EuroLeague. The victory lifted Bamberg’s record to 2-3, while also setting Milan on the same numbers. Darius Miller led the way with 27 points on 6-of-11 three-point shooting, including 9 crucial points in overtime. Back-to-back-to-back threes by Miller, Melli and Miller against gave the hosts hope at 38-46 at the break. Radosevic got involved early in the third quarter as Bamberg surged in front with a 14-1 run. Milan tied it, but Miller’s fifth three-pointer was a four-point play as the hosts took charge. However Milan recovered with a 1-8 push to end the quarter ahead 61-64. It remained close and Gentile’s pbank shot tied it at 77-77 with three minutes left, but back-to-back triples from Melli and Fabien Causeur put Bamberg back in control. The game came down to free throws late and Hickman, who drew a three-point foul in his own backcourt with 8.5 seconds remaining, tied the game at 91-91 and set up overtime. Miller took charge with 9 points in the extra session, but fouled out with 38 seconds remaining. Zisis buried a pair of free throws to make it a two-possession game with 15 seconds left and the hosts held on to win it.

"My players were great to come back mentally in overtime and be ready to deliver. I believe we produced a great second half. We controlled the game. We tried to do what we need to do. Every time we tried to do something, there were 2 free throws to help them narrow the gap. But we were stronger than this. I believe my players were great. It’s not very often that you see a game like this, 106-102. A game that we were down by 17, we didn’t understand a lot in the first half then I believe we found a way to play. All the players were great. It’s a great game for us. We are alive and kicking."
REPESA, JASMIN
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan
"Congratulations to the home team. For 18 minutes we played really great basketball. Defensively very focused, offensively very smart, we played like a team, we moved the ball well. It’s very difficult to explain what happened at the end of the first half, because they scored in the last minute 3 three-pointers and came back to within only 8 points. The start of the second half was really a bad part of our game. Fortunately at the end of the third quarter we found our game, a good rhythm of the game and had a chance to win the game. But many misunderstandings defensively helped the home team win the game. "

MILLER, DARIUS

"We just made good plays. They did too; they made it really tough on us. It just feels really good to close out a game. We’ve been struggling closing out games when we had the lead or really close, so it feels good to get one, especially at home in front of our fans. Amazing support every single game. We drew from their support and were able to get a win because of them. "
SANDERS, RAKIM
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan
"We came up short in the end. We had our moments and our opportunities, not just in the first half with the huge lead, but also later. It was up for grabs and it was anybody’s game, but we didn't execute well enough and give them credit for making all their free throws when they really counted."
