The 2010 ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT champion INSEP Paris moved to a 2-0 record in Group A of the Kaunas qualifying campaign with a 69-50 victory over USK Future Stars Prague. Stephane Gombauld was dominant with 25 points, eight rebounds, five assists, five steals, two blocks, nine fouls drawn and a ranking of 40 for the winners. Jonathan Jeanne added 17 points and eight rebounds while Bathiste Tchouaffe chipped in 11 points and helped INSEP hold USK Future Stars to just 38 percent shooting from the field. The Czech side dropped to 0-2 in the group despite Ondrej Sehnal scoring 16 points and Petr Janda picking up 10 points and seven rebounds.

Gombauld picked up six points and an assist in helping INSEP open an 8-2 lead. Krystof and David Chaloupka both scored to trim it to 8-6. Jeanne and Timothe Vergiat both followed with three-pointers to increase the margin to 14-6. It was 16-8 after Olivier Cortale’s score. Jakub Tuma scored his first points and Sehnal and David Zikla combined for three free throws to trim the gap to 16-13. Jules Rambaut pushed the cushion out to 18-13 before Janda’s basket had USK Future Stars to within 18-15 after 10 minutes. Tchouaffe started the second quarter with a three-ball and Sehnal answered with his first basket to make it 21-17. INSEP held USK Future Stars scoreless for nearly six minutes while Cortale nailed a three-ball and Gombauld converted a three-point play before Jeanne’s next score to open at 29-17 lead. Tuma stopped the run and Karel Formanek’s two foul shots made it 31-21 at intermission.
