A big fourth quarter come back bestowed CSKA Moscow its a 66-64 win over Lottomatica Roma in their first game in Group B of the Citta Di Roma tournament on Sunday evening in Roma, Italy. Other than a single point lead in the third minute of the game, CSKA was behind for 39 minutes but scored the last six points of the night to take over the game in the best timing. Lottomatic suffered from a bad shooting day from distance, making only four hits from the arc in 28 attempts, but its last attempt from the field was from the same challenging distance, a shot that was blocked and secured CSKA's win. Andrey Loginov led the winners with 19 points, 10 rebounds and added 10 turnovers for an akward triple-double. He was the only CSKA player to reach double-digits. Lottomatica found difficulties to connect from distance right from the start, but enjoyed frequent trips to the charity strips where it scored 9 of its first 11 points, and grabbed a 7 point lead. Marchetti scored around the rim, and when Matteo Giovannelli caught a wave of points the local team climbed to 36-24 after 16 minutes. CSKA enjoyed a more athletic and taller line up, and used that to dominate the boards while our-rebounding Lottomatica 56-22. It was enough only to maintain just a 10 point difference at the break, 40-30, The third quarter didn't deliver big news, but when CSKA its first shot in the fourth quarter from the arc the gap came down to 56-50. Marchetti, who scored 20 points in three quarters, didn't find the way to contribute, while CSKA cut on the gap piece by piece. Valerio Staffieri still gave Lottomatica a 64-60 lead a little over a minute to go, but saw Loginov step up with a key assist and that crucial block to upset Lottomatica in the most perfect timing.
