U18 Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius grabbed a comfortable 65-94 victory over U18 Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt to start its EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Kaunas. Justinas Leganovic collected 14 points, 7 assists and 3 steals to lead Lietuvos Rytas and Domantas Vilys added 14 points, and 4 rebounds in the Group A win. Lietuvos Rytas next take on U18 CFBB Paris on Friday. Isaac Bonga paced Skyliners with 16 points to go with 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Fraport’s next game is Friday against U18 Fenerbahce Istanbul.

Bonga hit 4 points as Skyliners opened a 13-9 lead. Lietuvos Rytas answered with a 0-9 run to go up 13-18. The German club came back and a Bonga basket at the buzzer left Skyliners ahead 19-18 after 10 minutes. Fraport led 21-19 when Yauhen Masalski scored 6 points in a 0-18 Lietuvos Rytas surge for a 21-37 advantage. Flynn Fischer came off the Skyliners bench and played well inside to help get to within 29-39. And the Lietuvos Rytas cushion was 34-44 at intermission. Lietuvos Rytas started the second half well and back-to-back three-pointers from Tadas Vaiciunas pushed the lead to 37-56. Philipp Hadenfeldt tried to keep it from getting away with a three-pointer and three-point play for Skyliners but 5 points from Simas Jarumbauskas increased the Lietuvos Rytas cushion to 42-66. And the gap was 47-76 after 30 minutes. The advantage swelled to 32 points at 51-83 before Fischer and Hadenfeldt brought the deficit to 61-86. In the end, the Lietuvos Rytas depth including 6 fourth quarter points from Paulius Poska was too much.
