Zalgiris will face USK Future Stars Prague on Saturday for a spot in Sunday’s final. Martynas Varnas paced the winners with 15 points and 5 assists, while Martynas Sajus tallied 8 points and 10 rebounds. Jan Niklas Wimberg led Ludwigsburg with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 blocks. Mahir Agva compiled 12 points and 7 rebounds before fouling out. Kristupas Zemaitis nailed a pair of threes as Zalgiris stormed to a 0-11 start. Varnas extended the lead to 2-17 before Simon Kutzschmar drew Ludwigsburg within 8-18 after 10 minutes. However Zalgiris remained in control and doubled the visitors up at 16-32 on Sajus’s basket-plus-foul. A Niklas Schuler three made it 21-34 at halftime. Agva and Wimberg helped rally Ludwigsburg to within 31-38 early in the third quarter. Zalgiris’s lead held steady at 10 heading into the fourth quarter. Agva twice narrowed the gap to 8 in the fourth quarter, but a 1-10 surge led by Matas Ragauskas carried Zalgiris safely to victory.
