INSEP kept its record perfect following an 83-44 victory over Brose Baskets on the last game of Group B in the Belgrade Nike International Junior Tournament on Friday night in Belgrade, Serbia. INSEP edged Hemofarm earlier today but enjoyed a walk in the park against the German side thanks to a 20-2 start for the third quarter. Brose Basket lost for the second time in the tournament and will take on KK Hemofarm tomorrow. The winner of the tournament will be the third team to secure its spot in the Nike International Junior Tournament, an annual event that is part of the Euroleague Final Four weekend. William Howard led INSEP with 19 points, Hugo Invernizzi added 12, while Jean-Charles Livio and Benjamin John added 11 each. Philipp Neumann was the only player for Brose to reach double digits with 19 points.

INSEP made an early statement with an 11-4 lead after 3 minutes, but Brose still tried to say a word by cutting the gap to 14-12. Benjamin scored five in a row to set the gap on 7 at the end of the first quarter, and then saw Invernizzi add 5 of his own to set a double-digit lead. Howard stepped up and together with Jean-Charles Livio pushed INSEP to a 43-21 gap close to the half time break. Neumann, who scored 11 points in the second quarter, was the only one to look in the eyes of the opponent, and cut the margin to 15 at the break, 43-28, but Brose didn't expect what is about to come next. Out of the locker-room talk the French academy players stormed the court and with a massive 20-2 run made clear who's on top of this game. Howard's bucket set the gap on 66-31 late in the third quarter and shut down the curtain on the game. The two sides passed the closing quarter in ease saving energy for tomorrow morning's games.
