BBA Ludwigsburg got its first win in the Siauliai Nike International Junior Tournament on Friday afternoon, going 1-2 with a triumph over Audentes Sports School. An 82-73 victory was taken in a game that Audentes had led by double-digits at one point. Joschka Ferner contributed heavily to the win with a colossal double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, assisted by Stefan Ilzhofer’s 17 points and 11 from Robert Zinn. For Audentes, Egert Haller was the standout with 17 points, joined by Sten Olmre (11 points) and Saimon Sutt (10 points).

The first period was high-scoring, although neither side could establish an advantage. A late Egert Haller two-pointer made it a 1-point game at the buzzer, pulling his Audentes team back to 19-18 down. Haller also hit the first basket at the start of the second quarter, putting Audentes into the lead with a big shot from behind the arc and lighting the touchpaper on an explosive period in which he and Martin Kask dominated. Audentes ended the first half 36-44 ahead, having led by as many as 13 points. Two Joschka Ferner triples for Ludwigsburg tightened the scoreline on the approach to the second half. The third quarter saw a turnaround of a double-digit deficit by Ludwigsburg, spurred by Stefan Ilzhofer’s points, steals and rebounds. Heading into the final ten minutes, Ludwigsburg had the advantage, 61-56. In a back-and-forth last quarter, both sides had spells in the lead, up until Ludwigsburg put in 9 unanswered points which decided the game. It won 82-73 in its first victory of the tournament
