Lukas Festr - IJT USK Future StarsUSK Future Stars Prague got its first win of the weekend on Sunday morning by defeating Elan Chalon by 67-59 in the game for seventh place at the NIke International Junior Tournament of Kaunas. The duel was a close one that was only decided in the last minutes. Lukas Festr led the winners with 20 points, Daniel Truhlar added 13 and Jan Krivanek posted a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. For Elan Chalon, Lucas Fevre led the way with his 19 points and Axel Bouteille contributed another double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The first quarter was really close and saw defenses prevail, since the score was 15-13 after 10 minutes. Festr and Truhlar boosted USK at the start of the second quarter for a 30-22 edge first and a 32-24 at the halftime break. Chalon reacted in the third quarter and despite an 11-point USK lead, David Michineau slammed to cap a comeback that made it 44-43 in minute 28. A Clint Capella layup put Chalon ahead 46-48 before a three by Festr closed the period with USK leading 49-48. The Czech team recovered and managed to hold a slim advantage until minute 37, when Michineau scored for 61-59. After that however, it was all USK with a three by Krivanek and then a couple of Chalon misses that allowed USK to seal the win on Truhlar's layup for seventh place.
